The Universitat de Barcelona was founded in 1450. It is structured in 5 campuses with 20 faculties and university schools, and has 106 departments teaching a complete range of courses including 69 undergraduate degrees, 67 PhD programs and 130 Bologna masters, as well as its own specially tailored postgraduate courses. UB is the only Spanish University to appear on the list of the world's 200 best universities. The UB participates in an average of 150 European projects per year, for an amount of about 20 million euro a year. The UB also is the leading centre for university research in Spain (with more than 5,000 full-time researchers, technicians and research assistants) and one of the most active in Europe, both in terms of the number of research programs that it runs and the excellence of its results.

Anna Cuatrecasas
​Anna Cuatrecasas is advisor to the rector for International Development and international affairs at the University of Barcelona. She is a national expert at the European Commission and has participated in several EC-Co-funded projects and currently coordinates the JISER-MED project.
 
 
 
Ramon Torrent
​Ramon Torrent is a full-time professor of Political Economy and International Economic Law at the UB, member of the Legal Service of the EU Council (1988-1998) and director in charge of external economic relations since 1993. He is currently director of the International Chair WTO/Regional Integration and of the IELPO L.L. Master. He helped to conceive the WTO Chairs Program launched by the WO and sits in its Advisory Board. He has advised Governments and International Organisations on IELPO issues (mainly in the Americas). Professor Torrent has been the coordinator of different EU projects since 2003 (OBREAL-EuropeAid-, BRIDGES, PROMHEDEU, JISER-MED- Erasmus Mundus) successfully finalized.
Nicolas Patrici
​Nicolas Patrici is a political scientist and coordinator of several Erasmus Mundus Action 1, 2 and 3 and Tempus projects at UB-OBREAL.  He has extensive experience in education management and international cooperation, and fellow researcher at the Observatory of Globalization/WTO-Chair at the University of Barcelona. Patrici has deep knowledge on the LAC region and experience in the field of EU and LAC HE and research. 
Agustina Calabrese
​Ms. Agustina Calabrese is financial and project manager of international projects at OBREAL - UB, and financial manager of the IELPO LL.M. programme at the University of Barcelona. She is a sociologist with research experience in the fields of public policy and social science.
Zeineb Mazouz
​Ms. Zeineb Mazouz received her master degree in political sciences from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques, Lyon, France in 2006 and her M.A in Chinese Language and Literature from the Institute Supérieur des Langues de Tunis, Tunisia in 2003. She is currently working as a project manager at University of Barcelona for a number of Tempus and Erasmus Mundus projects for the Mediterranean region. She is also a member of the IELPO LL.M. master programme coordination team at the University of Barcelona. She is fluent in 6 languages, including Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Italian and Chinese.
